 Understanding traffic behavior and reasons for queuing requires reliable data collected at the right place and at the right time.

We can manage queue surveys at any type and size of junction and we’ll work with you to create the best set-up for the timescale of the survey and the type of data you need. We typically use either video surveys or manual classified counts and can put a joint video and manual team together for complex or challenging queue issues.

This ability to mix and match means that we can provide a cost-effective, tailored solution that allows you to put the survey in place quickly and easily.

Using video allows us to capture data in complex situations, such as busy intersections,  freeway junctions or at gyratory systems.  The captured data for video is fully backed up, so you can see the evidence for yourself if you need to. We often recommend  video as the most cost-effective and accurate way to collect and analyze traffic survey data.

For both methods, the data we collect can be segmented and reported using the preferred  format for your project, giving you complete control and immediate access to results. Our ability to turn traffic survey projects around quickly and with precision will help you to move your own plans forward with confidence. 

For projects that require information such as vehicle classifications, occupancy, direction and interaction with pedestrians and cyclists, we can carry out a manual road traffic survey. 

We will work with you to agree the content, timing and delivery of the survey and then you can leave us to carry it out professionally within your time-scale. 

Automatic Traffic Count Surveys (ATCs) are the best way to collect detailed traffic data that is clearly presented for practical use.

ATC surveys are the most cost-effective way to gather large amounts of information, including classification and speed data . We use the most advanced equipment available, such as tube-based Metrocount units, air-pulse recording devices, volumetric devices and other sophisticated counters. This attention to detail produces precise results that you can rely on.

ATC surveys are suitable for temporary and permanent applications, and we can arrange for the installation of this equipment at very short notice, helping you to respond to needs quickly and reliably.
